Hi, i was wondering if anyone could give there opinion on this, My sister has 2 salmon catfishs that she's had for about 2-3 years i think, they have always been in a 4x18 tank. The larger of the 2 is quite bent and lays on the bottom of the tank upside down, he has always done this but he seems to be getting more bent. Breeding Bristles

Hi all,

just wondering if I could get some differing opinions on what is best to do when breeding BN. I have a few dedicated catfish tanks, I have commons in one 4x18x18, about 3 males and 7 females at the moment.
I have another 4x18x18 with albinos, about 6 males and 13 females, there are 7 caves and decent distance between them.
I also have some 1.5foot cubes tanks with a couple of breeding trios in each.

I was wondering if I should partition the 4x18 tanks and...

Bristle community tank

Hiya,

Im just setting up a couple of new tanks and I have been toying with the idea setting up a 2.5" tank with an undergravel and plenty of driftwood and from in a few small common bristlenoses and also a few peppermints, albinos and marbled. Is this recommended or not really a good idea due to different species?

Any information is good information.

I I have had a trio of peppermints for only 3 or so wks.
Everything seems to have been going well. But tonight i got home from work and found this:

I dont know whats happened. She seems VERY bloated. Is she egg bound or is this what they do when they die? Any idea what she died from?

Other two seem ok. Parameters all ok, temp ok. Only thing i can think of is that i fed...

just wondering if there are any corydoras breeders around victoria? i have been looking for around a month now, but can't find any. I tried posting in the wtb section and havent even had a nibble. Moving BN eggs

I've got a couple of BN's in a community tank that have spawned in a cave.
Can I move the eggs into a breeding tank without harming them or is it best
to leave them in the main tank and move the parents into the breeding tank
once the eggs have hatched? (I know dad needs to stay with them)

PS - it's looking good for some success with my whiptail cats, still have 12+ fry

Food for peppermints

hey all, was just figuring out if i should purchase some shrimp pellets for my peppermint catfish's to help add variety to their diet, especially protein. Ive been feeding them alot of zuccini, tropical flakes, spirulina flakes, frozen blood worms once in like 2-3weeks if i remember.
So would shrimp pellets make a much bigger impact on the growth of these pepp juvies? (47% protein in the shrimp pellets).
Oh and another thing, ive had 1kg of algae pellets about 5mm in the fridge...

I'm looking to set up a breeding tank for peppermints and BN's and would like some advice on how to do it right the first time.
